Construction workers remove black facade in front of future outlet
Long in development, the first Apple Store in Berlin is almost finished, photos obtained by AppleInsider show. The outlet is being constructed inside a former movie theater at Kurfürstendamm 26, and earlier today construction workers began removing a black facade that was masking the front of the location. Kurfürstendamm is a major shopping street in Berlin, home to many high-end stores.
The project has been under development for years, but should finally open in May. It's not clear what's been prolonging the store's opening; one factor may be size, since the Kurfürstendamm outlet will be Apple's biggest in Germany once it's completed. The company already has stores in cities like Augsburg, Dresden, Cologne, and Munich, and has even managed to launch two Hamburg shops before coming to Berlin.
