Walmart iPad mini drops to $299
US retailers Best Buy and Walmart have begun new online sales on iPads. The former is selling third-generation iPads at up to 30 percent off, for instance putting a 32GB Wi-Fi model at $384, $165 off retail. A 16GB 4G iPad, meanwhile, is going for $406.
Walmart has dropped the price of a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad mini to $299. That's $30 below retail, and close to what a refurbished Mini normally costs, although Apple is currently out of Wi-Fi refurbs. Unlike Best Buy, Walmart is requiring that any online orders of the discounted hardware be picked up in person.

Looks like new versions are coming. I still have yet to see Apple post any data regarding iPad Mini sales numbers. Seems like a lot of hype but not sure they're really selling well. The media likes to think they are. I have yet to see anyone other than just a couple of people over the past several months using an iPad Mini in the wild, and I live in a large city.
