Dreamweaver new feature showcased, to be added to new version

Adobe has announced availability for a final release of Lightroom 4.4, along with an updated Camera Raw and DNG Converter (both now at version 7.4). The major changes in all three revolve around the addition of Raw support for 25 new camera models, corrections to the demosaic algorithms for some Fujifilm lens profiles, adjusting the default white balance for some Nikon profiles and fixing reported bugs. In addition, the company updated its Edge Reflow to Preview 2, and offered a "sneak peek" of a CSS Designer feature in Dreamweaver.

Lightroom 4.4 is a free update for 4.x users, as are Camera Raw and the DNG Converter program, the latter of which brings new camera Raw support to earlier versions of Photoshop. The new cameras supported in the updates include the Canon EOS 1D C, 100D (aka the Digital Rebel SL1 or EOS Kiss X7), 70D (aka Digital Rebel T5i or EOS Kiss X7i); the Casio Exilim EX-ZR700, 710 and 750 models; the Fujifilm Finepix F900EXR, HS50EXR and SL100, along with the X100s and X20; Hasselblad's H5D-40, H5D-50 and Lunar models; the Leica M (type 240); the Nikon 1 J3, S1 and Nikon D7100, Coolpix A and preliminary support for the Coolpix P330; Olympus' XZ-10; the Pentax MX-1; Samsung's NX300, and the Sony Alpha NEX-3N and Alpha SLT-A58.

Corrections to lens profiles mostly center around existing Fujifilm cameras with the X-Trans sensor, including an increase in default sharpening in the X-Pro1 and X-E1 and changes to the profile for the X100S and X20. Profiles have also been adjusted for Fujifilm raw images using the EXR HR mode in the X10, XF1, X-S1, S200EXR, HS20EXR, HS30EXR, F550EXR, F600EXR, F770EXR and F800EXR cameras. In addition, default Nikon white balances have been adjusted for the D2X, D2Xs, D2Hs, D200, D40, D50 and D80 cameras.

Adobe's Creative Cloud subscribers can also now access Preview 2 of the company's latest web design tool, Edge Reflow (part of its full suite of HTML5/CSS workflow tools). The new version follows its debut last month, and adds absolute and fixed positioning options in addition to a z-index, giving designers more flexibility in creating and positioning elements for websites. The program is an advanced CSS layout editor featuring resizable design areas and real-time preview, and the update adds further styling and layout capabilities as seen in a promotional video (below).

Finally, the company also offered a video preview at a new Dreamweaver feature that will be added to the program in a future version, likely to debut at the company's Adobe MAX conference being held next month in San Francisco. The new "CSS Designer" feature is said by Adobe to "give users the ability to visually apply and set different media queries for web content to be presented in different-sized media," and the video highlighting the feature is seen below.

Lightroom 4.4, Camera Raw 7.4 and DNG Converter are available to download from Adobe's website and in-app update mechanisms. The Photoshop version of Camera Raw 7.4 is obtainable through the CS6 updater.
