The Extensis digital asset management (DAM) tool Portfolio Server has been upgraded to version 11. Additionally, the DAM server includes robust iPad and video capabilities -- offering instant access to digital media with streaming HD video playback and video conversion for tablets, mobile devices and the web.

Portfolio Server 11 allows users to customize the system to fit within any organization or team, including features such as home screens of Portfolio Server 11 capable of being branded with an organization's logo and overall "look and feel"; a customizable UI allowing users to tweak the user interface to fit their organizational, data entry, and search needs; Gallery Favorites able to be quickly accessed with a "pin" mechanism; and automated user management with Active Directory integration to offer easy administration and access by users.

The new version of the app supports Camera Raw images, with enhanced metadata tagging of assets. Additionally, NetMediaMax HD provides for rapid conversion of video for the web and for mobile devices on-the-fly.

The new version of the app can be installed on a traditional server, on Amazon EC2, or on VMWare VSphere. Portfolio Server 11 is available immediately, and starts at a retail price of $1,999. Competitive upgrades are available for a variety of products, including Final Cut Pro Server. Current Portfolio Server users with a annual service agreement will receive product upgrades free of charge, and upgrade pricing is also available for existing Portfolio Standalone, Portfolio Server and Portfolio Studio customers.
