QuarkXPress upgrade promotion

Quark has announced an extension to its upgrade promotion that allows QuarkXPress version 3 through 8 users to upgrade to QuarkXPress 9 for $349. Customers now have until June 30 to take advantage of the $500 discount, which otherwise is only offered to QuarkXPress 8 users. Features of v9 include a number of processes that can automatically style content based on styling rules, a cloning tool for duplication design elements, and access to App Studio for creating HTML5-based apps for the iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, and Android devices.

Millumin update with 64-bit support released

An updated version of Millumin, a software tool for integrating video and visual effects into a stage presentation, has been released. The new version includes numerous engine enhancements, as well as full 64-bit and OS X Mountain Lion support. Additionally, the update allows users to name columns in the dashboard and now supports both 2K and 4K resolution files. Millumin is sold for $770, however, the update is free all existing customers.

I stop using Quark years ago. Many offset printing places ask for InDesign. I love the double click and launch PSD from within InDesign layout.
