New Motorola X Phone render appears, more rumored specs

Motorola X Phone buzz continues to build with new render appearing

A new render of the rumored Motorola X Phone has appeared courtesy of GSM Arena. Instead of a quad-core Tegra 4i processor as previously thought, the latest round of speculation purports that the device will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor. It may also carry IP57 certification, like the Sony Xperia Z, meaning that it will be both dust and water resistant.

The Motorola X Phone is also expected to center on a 4.7 or 4.8-inch display with a resolution of at least 1,280x768 protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 3. Although not officially a 'Nexus' class device that might otherwise run a vanilla version of Android 4.2 'Jelly Bean,' it is expected to have some Motorola customizations, but these may be limited to things like Moto's current clock and weather widget.

Hugh Bradlow, the chief technology for Australian carrier Telstra, who has seen the device labeled it a 'game changer' that could 'put pressure on both Apple and Samsung.' It is expected to tightly integrate Google's services in way not yet seen in an Android smartphone and Google has been working on it for some time. It is expected to bring a 'wow factor' not yet seen in Motorola devices under Google's ownership and could be the first Motorola phone to be developed completely under Google's watch.
