Promises more meeting spaces, bigger Genius Bar
Apple is relaunching its Barton Creek outlet in Austin, Texas on March 23rd at 10AM. The company says that the overhauled location will be larger than before, for instance offering more demo units. More significantly the store will have more space for training, workshops, and meetings with business staff, and a larger Genius Bar.
As at many other Apple Store openings, the first 1,000 people to come to the store will get a free t-shirt. Austin is an important market for Apple; the city is rapidly expanding, and home to a number of high-tech businesses and conferences. During SXSW 2011, the company in fact opened up a pop-up retail location downtown to help sell the iPad 2, despite already having two other stores in the city.
