May mark later phases of tablets' lifecycles
Apple has started selling refurbished models of the iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad at its online store. Selection is currently still limited, however; for the Mini, only 32GB Wi-Fi and 16 and 32GB cellular options are available. Fourth-gen iPad shoppers have access to 16GB Wi-Fi and 16 and 32GB cellular models.
Each unit includes a one-year warranty, a new battery, and a new outer shell. Typically, the availability of refurbs marks the end of any supply shortages for an Apple product, and also a later phase in its lifecycle. Apple doesn't appear ready to introduce new iPads before the summer or the fall, however.
