Square rolls out iPad-based 'Business in a Box' POS system

Receipt printer costs extra $300
Mobile-based point-of-sale developer Square has announced the Business in a Box, a new hardware option for retailers. The system includes a cash drawer, a Square card reader, and a WindFall iPad stand, meant to hold an iPad running the Square Register app. In theory the combination should be able to handle all major POS tasks, including creating custom inventories and running analytics.
One exception however involves receipts. By default, receipts must be emailed to customers; adding a receipt printer costs another $300. For all transactions Square charges businesses a 2.75 percent rate per swipe, or alternately a flat $275 fee per month.
