updated 02:07 pm EST, Tue February 19, 2013

Frozen MacBooks, SSD performance and more

This week in the MacNN forums, a discussion about the effects of cold on a computer was brought about after one Senior User recounted the tale of how their MacBook Air recently froze and was subsequently resurrected. One Mac Enthusiast plans on upgrading the SSD that originally came with their 27-inch iMac to a more modern SSD in hopes that the newer drive will provide a boost in performance, some members disagree that this will help, join in here.

Professional Poster "freudling" recently got their hands on a Galaxy Note II, and has started a thread comparing it to the iPhone 5, noting that they find many things about this device from Samsung to be better, click here for more. That's not the only thing on freudling's list of complaints -- this week he is in a debate about Windows 8 vs. Mountain Lion which he also started and keeps fuelled as he seems to be turning away from Apple. "Has anybody else noticed that updating iPhone apps in iTunes lately has been kind of slow?" asked Moderator "iBook_steve" earlier this week.
