updated 11:45 am EST, Thu February 14, 2013

Infinity Blade is Apple's App of the Week

This week Apple is offering Infinity Blade, the original Epic/Chair mobile game, as its free app of the week. Regularly priced at $6, the game takes players through the story of a family that has been tasked with ending the God King's rule. A recent update fixed several bugs for lower-memory devices, improved rendering, and added five new translations. A sequel to the game, Infinity Blade II, is available for $7 through the App Store; the next title in the series was recently put on hold.

Borderlands 2 update brings cross-platform support

Aspyr has announced the launch of new content for the Mac version of Borderlands 2. The first release is the third campaign add-on, known as Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. In this expansion players enter a new territory in the swamps of Pandora where a massive Hyperion ship has crashed. In this swamp players will be able to find a host of new loot, including all new guns that can be taken back to the main game. The second release is a new update that introduces cross platform multiplayer support, allowing players to play with friends using the PC version. The update should be rolling out to all Mac Steam users and should download and install automatically the next time you launch Borderlands 2.
