Briefly: iOS 6.1 minor Passbook update, Stanley for iPhone 5

updated 12:43 pm EST, Tue January 29, 2013

Welcome card added to Passbook

While not listed in the official release notes, the iOS 6.1 update included a small change to Passbook that makes it easier to find Passbook-enabled apps. Previously, launching Passbook for the first time would present users with a welcome screen that listed Passbook apps with links for downloading each. However, this screen would disappear after a single Passbook app was downloaded. In iOS 6.1 this welcome screen has become a permanent inclusion and can be found listed below other Passbook cards.

Incipio releases Stanley cases for iPhone 5

Incipio has announced that its line of protective Stanley cases are now available for the iPhone 5. The lineup includes the Dozer, Foreman, Highwire, and Technician, each offering varying levels of protection for the device. The Dozer retails for $50 and offers the greatest protection with shock absorbing silicone and splash and dust resistant button protection. The remaining cases all retail for $40 and are available in several different color options.

Should also be noted the Welcome Passbook card can be deleted if you don't want it taking up space...
