Acer continues mid-range smartphone line with Liquid E1

updated 09:19 am EST, Fri January 25, 2013

Uses dual-core 1Ghz processor, 4.5-inch qHD screen

A new mid-specification smartphone in the Acer Liquid line has surfaced, this time with a 4.5-inch, 540x960 IPS display. The Liquid E1 follows on from the Liquid E and Liquid Glow, but this time runs on Android 4.1.1 and has an improved specifications list compared to previous models, though it falls short of competing with other flagship models.

Powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor supported by 1GB of RAM, the Liquid E1 has a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera and a 0.3MP front-facing counterpart, and 4GB of internal storage upgradable by MicroSD. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, GPS, FM radio reception, and an array of sensors are also included in the device. Eurodroid also writes that it has an eight-hour talk-time with its 1760mAh battery.

No details have been made public regarding prices, release dates, nor markets the Liquid E1 will be sold in, but more relavant information could be released at Mobile World Congress in February.
