New leak shows more details of HTC Sense 5 Android overlay

New design simplifies icons, unclutters display

More screenshots of HTC's Sense 5 have surfaced online, showing a much cleaner and less cluttered interface. The new version of the Android overlay, first spotted in the HTC M7 image leak yesterday, shows a more-refined design than in previous iterations, with included widgets seemingly offering up much more screen real estate than before.

The images, appearing on the XDA forums, are said to be from a stable build covering Android 4.1.2 running on a Verizon phone, with the port being pulled from a Sprint M7. The unlock ring from the front screen has been removed replaced by an unlock button, while the iconography and fonts appear to have a simplified and stylized appearance.

The HTC M7 and other similar devices are expected to be formally revealed at Mobile World Congress, with a more thorough set of details expected to be released by the company at that time.

While the images originally appeared on the forum through the actions of one user, the screenshots have since ceased to be visible. Forum member mdeejay appears to have used Dropbox for image hosting, with the sheer number of users viewing the images forcing the cloud storage provider to temporarily block access to the account. More leaks showing the updated overlay are still expected to appear online in the future, ahead of its reveal.
