Light Blue 4 makes switch to native OS X, Windows apps

Photo business software currently in public beta
Light Blue Software has announced Light Blue 4, an upgrade of its photo business management software. The new app has been rendered fully native in versions for Mac and Windows, instead of being based on FileMaker. Currently only a public beta of the Mac software is available; the completed Mac release is due by the end of January, to be followed by the Windows edition in February. iPad and iPhone apps are in development, and should be ready sometime this spring.
A Light Blue license is £295 ($473 US) new, or £95 ($152) as an upgrade from any previous version. Access to online sync services starts at £7.50 ($12) per month for two devices and scales up to £25 ($40) per month for six to 10 devices. This does however include ongoing updates past a default six-month window, and will be required to use the iOS apps.
Light Blue lets users keep track of current, past, and upcoming shoots, including calendars, contacts, quotes, and transactions. All information is cross-linked, and photographers can use a mix of quick or saved queries to rapidly narrow down lists. Cross-platform sync will be supported once the software goes multi-platform.
