TweetDeck for Mac catches up to Chrome, gets other tweaks

updated 04:26 pm EST, Wed January 9, 2013

Adds Typeahead, People Search support

Social network Twitter has updated the Mac version of TweetDeck, its most advanced official client app. The v2.3.1 release brings Mac features up to par with those for Chrome and other platforms, for instance adding Typeahead to searches, predicting what a person is about to type. An extension of this is People Search, presenting a list of people in a user's Twitter community based on entered text.

In all the update is said to include over 90 bugfixes and other changes. Some minor enhancements include the ability to shrink the app window down to two columns, and the inclusion of embedding options within each tweet. TweetDeck for Mac is a free download for systems running OS X Snow Leopard or later.
