Samsung denies early Galaxy S IV release on Facebook
Despite continuing rumors that Samsung is preparing to launch the successor to its best-selling Galaxy S III smartphone, the Lebanese arm of the South Korean conglomerate denied that such a launch will happen in the near future. A post on the company's Facebook page appeared to refute rumors that the company would be releasing the Galaxy S IV early in 2013, instead appearing to signal May 2013 as the release date for Samsung's next flagship handset. Samsung Lebanon has since deleted the post, letting users know that "the info shared was done by mistake."
On Wednesday, a Facebook fan of Samsung Lebanon asked the company "hey, is there any news for the Samsung Galaxy S4 release?" to which Samsung Lebanon replied "...the Galaxy SIV won't be released before May 2013."
Later, the company released a statement saying that "What we said is only trivial since all Galaxy S series are released between late April and Early May, yet there's no way for anyone to know the exact release date :-)"
Since the release of the iPhone 5, rumors have abounded that Samsung was preparing an early-2013 release of the Galaxy S IV. Samsung has typically denied any rumors speculating on future products, but Samsung Lebanon's statements constitute the most tangible evidence to date regarding a release date for the next Samsung flagship phone.
