Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S IV image leaked, absent home buttons

updated 10:18 am EST, Fri January 4, 2013

Rendered press image suggests move to software buttons

An image claimed to be the face of the rumored Samsung Galaxy S IV has appeared online. If confirmed to be true, the photograph shows Samsung as moving away from its physical home and navigational buttons, as used in the high-selling Galaxy S III, and instead shifting towards software-based versions. The thin bezel also suggests an edge-to-edge display similar to that of the Motorola Droid Razr M.

Though not able to be confirmed as real by SamMobile, its source claimed to have more images available. The press photo could be a rendered image, a mock up between the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Premier designs, but it could still be a fan-created design and not a Samsung-made render.

Previous rumors for the Galaxy S IV have suggested it will have a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a pixel density of 441ppi, a quad-core Exynos 5440 processor, a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, and a reveal date for either March or April.
