VoIP calling beta test comes to Canada
Facebook has updated the iOS and Android versions of its Messenger app with support for voice messages. Holding down a button starts the recording process. Using a slide gesture cancels a message, while letting go sends it.
Facebook is meanwhile starting beta testing of a VoIP calling feature for Messenger on iOS. The option is only available to Canadians at the moment, however, and requires that both people in a call have the latest version of Messenger. To make a call, a user has to start a conversation with someone, hit the "i" button, and tap Free Call.
