Apple's '12 Days' gifts continue with Ke$ha single

Music videos, songs, TV shows, e-books and apps on tap
Now on Day 8, Apple's "12 Days of Christmas" promotion for Canada, Mexico, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand has already given out free gifts from nearly every department of the iTunes Store. After starting things off ahead of schedule with a free "starter" gift of a Rod Stewart music video ("Let It Snow"), the assortment has included songs, HD (or SD) videos, a free movie rental, an e-book and some iOS apps.
Each gift is only marked down to free for a 24-hour period, so all but the current offer have reverted back to their normal pricing or are expired. Following the starter gift, the app offered a Maroon 5 EP of songs on Boxing Day (December 26), followed by the iOS game app Score!. On Day Three, users received an HD episode of the BBC drama Sherlock ("A Study in Pink") in most regions.
That was followed by the e-book The Red Pole of Macau by Ian Hamilton in Canada (it was Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes in the UK), the Season One pilot of the US sitcom How I Met Your Mother in Canada (substituted by an Ed Sheeran iTunes Festival EP in the UK), and the game Sonic Jump as the last gift of 2012.
The New Year had kicked off Tuesday with a free rental of an animated Tom and Jerry movie called The Fast and the Furry, while the UK, the New Year's Day present was two "Toy Story Toons" from Pixar. Wednesday's gift in Canada was a two-song "single" by recording artist Ke$ha, "Only Wanna Dance With You" and "Past Lives," while Wednesday's present was the e-book The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.
The app is available for non-US iTunes account holders in the affected countries in North America, the UK, Europe and the Pacific Rim. Readers can let us know if there were any other regional differences in the comments below.
