Robbers steal $1.32M in goods from Paris Opera Apple Store

Thieves assault store workers
Robbers stole an estimated $1.32 million in Apple products from the Paris Opera Apple Store on New Year's Eve, Dow Jones reports. A group of armed men in masks came in through the service entrance three hours after the store closed, at about 1700 GMT. At the time, only a cleaner and a single security guard were present. The robbers nevertheless assaulted them, inflicting slight injuries in one case.
The thieves are then said to have "calmly" gone through the store's stock, snatching iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. When they were finished they piled the products into a vehicle and left. The estimated value of the goods taken stems from French media accounts; neither Apple nor police have confirmed the exact value of the heist.
The Opera Apple Store is one of Apple's flagship locations, being based in downtown Paris near the famous Palais Garnier opera house. It also resembles few other Apple Stores, since it's situated in a historic building where Apple has left many architectural details intact.
