Images of BlackBerry 10 user interface leak ahead of event

updated 06:01 am EST, Tue December 18, 2012

Screenshots show BB10 Hub, possible voice assistant

Images showing the user interface of BlackBerry 10 have leaked online. The screenshots show not only the general layout of the software as a whole, but also a number of important features, including the new Blackberry 10 Hub, and something that looks as if Research In Motion has created their own version of voice assistant Siri.

The new BB10 Hub, as shown by pictures released by Tinh te, is an all-in-one center for all messages and contacts, handling updates from social networks, text messages and multiple e-mail accounts at the same time. Apps for Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare are also present in the images. The virtual assistant does appear to have taken a page or two from Apple's Siri and Samsung's S-Voice, at least in terms of layout. It isn't clear by the images if the white border around each part of the voice service signifies a card-type system used by Google Now, or if it is just for decorative purposes.

Research in Motion will be formally unveiling BlackBerry 10 on January 30th in multiple media events around the world. Canadian carrier Rogers is accepting preorders of a new BlackBerry device, despite the fact that the handset will not be revealed until the event.
