Tab now shows friends' interests

Facebook is updating its iOS and Android apps later today to upgrade the Nearby tab, according to company's official blog. The new tab is gaining ability to show local places that friends have liked, recommended, or checked into. In tandem, people will also be able rate or recommend places via mobile.

Facebook warns people that the changes constitute an "early release," and that the technology should improve as more people use it. "We also plan to add places info from third party services in the near future," the company says, without going into more detail.

Sure would be nice if FaceBook got their mobile coding down so that when your on the New Feed Page you could enter comments, rather than having to open up the users wall and enter a comment. Waste of time.

    Agree, aroxnicadi!

YMMV, but I'd also like to see the stability improved greatly. Ever since the release of 5.2, I get launch and post crashes nearly half the time.
