Lumia 510 released in India, Lumia 505 in Mexico

Nokia has reportedly started to roll out Windows Phone 7.8 to some of its handsets. At the same time as the mobile operating system upgrade to some of the company's handsets, Nokia has also launched the Lumia 505 in Mexico, and the Lumia 510 in India, both of which will launch with Windows Phone 7.8 out of the box.

The Windows Phone 7.5 upgrade to 7.8 is said to be available for handsets including the Lumia 510 and Lumia 900 in some markets, and comes just days after the firmware update was seen on Nokia's servers awaiting deployment. The update, which will give a similar splash screen to that of Windows Phone 8 and also have the Xbox tile, will consist of a smaller "Nokia update" followed by a number of larger downloads, according to

The Lumia 510, originally seen running Windows Phone 7, has a 4-inch display with a resolution of 800x400 pixels, an 800MHz Snapdragon S1 processor paired with 256MB of RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera. Only just launched in India, claims BGR, the smartphone will cost 10,500 rupees ($190). The 505 in Mexico, price currently unknown, sports a 3.7-inch screen with a higher 80x480 resolution and a beefier 8-megapixel camera, but uses the same speed of processor, 4GB internal memory, and WP7.8 operating system as its Indian counterpart.
