Five new Philips docks revealed, carry Lightning connectors

Philips has taken to Flickr to reveal its new lineup of iPhone speaker docks. The new docks are the first from Philips to support the new Apple Lightning connector that features on its most recent iOS devices. Among the new devices are the Lifestyle Music System (DCM2067), the Portable Docking Speaker (DS7580), the Room-to-room Docking Speaker (DS3205), the Bedroom Docking Speaker (DS1155), and the Urban Micro System (DCM3155).

The Lifestyle Music System can charge iOS devices and play music, while it also includes a retractable Lightning dock. It also includes a CD player, FM radio and can produce up to 20 Watts RMS from its speaker system. The Portable Docking speaker system incorporates Philips wOOx technology for a richer bass sound. It also incorporates a built-in battery that delivers up to 8 hours of battery life on the go.

The new Room-to-Room Docking Speaker includes high-quality neodymium speakers that deliver a powerful bass response and more balanced sound. The Bedroom Docking Speaker has a 360-degree design for omnidirectional sound. The clock also synchronizes with the clock of a user’s Apple device with a USB port built-in to the back for charging a second device. The Urban Micro System is yet to be detailed by Philips.

Also yet to be announced by Philips are the pricing or availability, although Apple Stores have carried Philips docking systems in the past.
