Droid Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD to get Android 4.1 next week

updated 06:52 pm EST, Fri November 30, 2012

Update to bring Google Now, ISIS

Owners of the Motorola Droid Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD will be getting an OS update some time next week that will bring Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to their handsets. This according to Verizon, which published an announcement today saying that the update would be pushed out in phases. The announcement comes shortly after the Droid Razr M started receiving its update to Jelly Bean earlier this month.

The update to Android 4.1 brings a smoother user interface, thanks to Project Butter, which bumps the Android interface to 60fps. It also brings Google Now, which shows relevant information to users based on time and location. Verizon customers will also see their handsets become compatible with ISIS, the mobile wallet program that allows users to use their smartphones as a payment mechanism.
