27-inch iMac already slipping to 3-4 weeks at online store

updated 03:34 pm EST, Fri November 30, 2012

Maysuggest very limited stocks

Even though Apple only today put the computer on sale at its online store, US shipping times for the 27-inch iMac have already stretched out to between three and four weeks. This morning times were listed as between two to three weeks. With the new delay, it's likely that many new iMac orders will miss Christmas.

21.5-inch iMacs are still set to ship in one to three days, with a slightly longer delay for any customization. The almost immediate delay of 27-inch systems may suggest that Apple has manufactured very few units so far. One possibility is that LG Display is still limited in its ability to produce iMac displays.

Yeah...because nothing is better publicity than missing the holiday season.
