Similar handset to Galaxy S III Mini revealed with improved processor

Samsung has quietly launched a new Ice Cream Sandwich-based smartphone in the US. The Galaxy Axiom, a four-inch Android 4.0 handset with 4G LTE connectivity has appeared on the US Cellular website with little fanfare, and seems to share a similar style and specifications list to the previously-announced Galaxy S III Mini.

Spotted by Android Community, The Axiom has a 480x800 WVGA display, a 3-megapixel rear-facing and 1.3-megapixel front-facing cameras, NFC, S Beam, S Voice, DNLA comparability and a number of other specification details that make it similar to the S III Mini. While the Mini is said to have a dual-core 1GHz processor and a 1,500mAh battery, the Axiom has a faster dual-core 1.2GHz chip as well as a longer-lasting 2,100mAh power source.

US Cellular is currently offering the Galaxy Axiom for $400 without a contract, or $80 with a two-year subscription.
