Google promotes Chromebook with interactive signage

Google is offering users the opportunity to put an image of their face or another photograph onto a sign above Times Square, New York City. The offer is using the tagline "For...", currently used in the company's current advertising campaign for the Chromebook notebook computers, ahead of the holiday shopping season.

Anyone wishing to appear on the digital signage must submit a photo through, complete with a "For..." tagline. After being vetted, a selection of those submitted will be put on the Times Square sign temporarily, though the website does suggest that there may be other similar locations the images could appear.

One notable participant identified by the company as John took advantage of the promotion on his visit to New York, using the signs to propose to his girlfriend, Tiffany, from the stand.
