Black Friday deal knocks Lumia 920 to $50

[Update: promotion is limited to certain states] AT&T revealed its "Black Friday" sales specials today, dropping the price on Nokia's Lumia 920 to just $50 on contract. In order to make up the difference in price for early adopters, who paid $100 for the device, the carrier also appears to be crediting those customers' accounts $50.

Customers looking to take advantage of the rebate, according to WPCentral, need only contact AT&T customer service.

Pricing on Nokia's new flagship handset has been something of an issue leading up to its launch. Previously, Best Buy and other outlets priced the device at $150 on contract, and AT&T revealed at its launch that it would be pricing the Windows Phone 8 handset below even that point. The Lumia 920 and its mid-range counterpart Lumia 820 are thought by many to be Nokia's last, best chance at recovering from a precipitous drop in market share following the ascendance of Apple's iPhone and Android-powered handsets from Samsung.

Update: The Lumia 920 promotion is currently limited to retail stores in Arizona, Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The company has yet to announce its national Black Friday deals.
