Wireless rechargeable speakers work with AirPlay

iHome, maker of a range of audio accessories for Macs, iDevices, and other gadgets, announced the shipment of the newest addition to its line of AirPlay compatible wireless speakers. The iW3 can stream wireless music from iTunes on a PC or Mac, from an iPad, an iPhone, or an iPod touch. The unit is certified for 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and features a modest size, making it easily placeable in any number of rooms.

The iW3 supports USB for charging and music playback from iDevices. Its included IR remote control supports play/pause, next track, previous track, and volume control for iDevices and iTunes. And setup is easy with simple network options and a free app available on the App Store for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Users simply launch the app and connect to the speaker, and on-screen menus guide them through the process.

The iW3 features SRS WOW HD audio, delivering a dynamic 3D entertainment experience powered by rich bass and high frequency clarity. Its Reson8 speaker chambers also deliver high-clarity sound.

The iW3 is available at iHome's site with the option of free shipping. Available in black, silver, and red, the iW3 retails for $200.
