JBL intros OnBeat Micro and Venue LT with Lightning connectors

JBL has revealed its first speaker docks with native support for Apple's latest propietary Lightning connector. The JBL OnBeat Micro and the Venue LT have been specifically designed for the new Lightning port equipped iPhone 5, iPad mini, fourth-gen Retina iPad and the new iPod touch models. The speaker docks will also support other non-Lightning devices via a USB port allowing users to connect an array of other devices.

The JBL OnBeat Micro is an ultra-portable speaker dock that has been designed to fit into a backpack, purse or briefcase. The OnBeat Micro provides up to 5 hours of playback when used with batteries and charges the iPhone 5, the iPod touch 5th generation and the new iPod nano when used with the included AC adapter over the Lightning connector. A companion app for OnBeat Micro is also available and can be used to create customized playlists, adjust volume and browse album artwork.

The JBL OnBeat Venue LT incorporates a hidden Lightning dock connector behind the JBL logo at the speaker's base. It has been designed with the iPad Mini and revised iPad with Retina display in mind and features Harman's TrueStream Bluetooth wireless streaming tech, allowing the OnBeat Venue LT to connect with up to eight devices. The OnBeat Venue LT also comes with a free, downloadable MusicFlow app that allows users to create customized playlists, edit mixes, adjust volume and EQ settings, and browse album artwork.

The JBL OnBeat Micro is retailing for $99, while the OnBeat Venue LT is selling for $199. Both models are available through select retailers and online at JBL.com.
