Facebook, partners host 1.7 million job listings
Facebook today added yet another category to the list of fields it touches, opening a job listing aggregation portal. Dubbed the Social Jobs Partnership, the project is the result of a collaborative effort between Facebook, the Department of Labor, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the DirectEmployers Association, and the National Association of State Workforce Agencies. It allows users to search listings across popular jobs sites such as Work4Labs, Monster, BranchOut, Jobvite, and US.Jobs.
Reportedly, Facebook does not make any money off of the application. The app functions, though, to keep users on the social network as they conduct their job searches, drawing Facebook closer to the core of social job recruiting.
