Claims pricing scheme not that flexible

Samsung is denying reports that the company has raised prices on the chips it supplies to Apple, according to Korean newspaper The Hankyoreh. The information is said to come by way of an anonymous Samsung executive. The person elaborates that prices are typically set at the beginning of the year, and don't change easily.

Prior to today, Samsung was alleged to have hiked the prices on A-series processors by 20 percent. Apple is initially said to have denied Samsung's request, but accepted it in light of not being able to find an alternative supplier. While other companies should be able to manufacture Apple chip designs, Samsung is thought to be one of the few that can meet the scales Apple needs.
