Tablet beating earlier predictions?
Some LTE-equipped fourth-generation iPads should be delivered as soon as this Friday, according to shipping notifications sent out by Apple. Recent reports had the tablets only shipping next week, but matching firmware is already on Apple servers, and the company initially promised that LTE models would ship about two weeks after the Wi-Fi ones, which launched on November 2nd.
As for new orders, LTE iPads are listed as shipping in 7 business days; Wi-Fi models are fully in stock. Rumors have suggested that AT&T stores will begin carrying the updated LTE models on the 16th, in which case Apple Stores and other retail shops will likely have the hardware on the same date.
There is no news on the LTE iPad mini, which is still expected to arrive no earlier than the 21st. In general Apple has been aiming at a mid-November target, but the company has been inconsistent about offering specific dates.
