Rovio's latest game already at number 1 on App Store
Rovio’s eagerly anticipated Angry Birds Star Wars is out now on iOS, Mac and Android. The game is available in a standard version for iPhone and iPod ($0.99, App Store), an HD version for iPad ($2.99, App Store), and for Mac ($4.99, Mac App Store. It is also available as an ad-supported version for Android (Free, Google Play) and as an HD premium version ($2.99, Google Play).
As the video embedded below shows, the Rovio have been very inventive in developing the game to adapt to the world of Star Wars. While the familiar slingshot physics remain, Jedi and lightsaber elements abound in order to help the birds defeat the Imperial pigs. Unsurprisingly, the latest installment of the multi-million dollar gaming empire has quickly made to the top of the best-seller lists.
Fans of the Star Wars universe will thoroughly enjoy the way the game follows the plot from the original trilogy as well as adding all the famous Star Wars sounds effects. The birds and pigs are variously dressed as the iconic characters from the blockbuster movie franchise now owned by Disney, after George Lucas signed a $4 billion deal to hand over control to the Hollywood studio.
