updated 08:31 pm EST, Mon November 5, 2012

New cases have variety of styles, functions

Griffin Technology announced today the availability of a new line of cases designed for Apple's iPad mini. Griffin's announcement included several new designs, patterned after its most popular collections. Customers can choose from the Survivor, IntelliCase, CinemaSeat, Folio, Slim Folio, and Passport lines.

The Survivor line is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame and shock-absorbing silicon. It's designed to protect against dirt, sand, wind, rain, shock, vibration, and other environmental factors. It also features a built-in screen protector. It's available for $60 and comes with a stand that folds open for landscape viewing and typing.

The IntelliCase model features a polycarbonate case coupled with a hinged cover for the touchscreen. The cover folds back and can be made into a case for the iPad mini. It also features magnets built in to take advantage of the tablet's automatic sleep/wake functions. It retails between $35 and $40 and comes in red, black, PixelCrash camo, and ZigZag color options.

The CinemaSeat case turns an iPad mini into an in-car entertainment system, with cutouts for easy access to the screen, controls, and ports. Retailing at $40, it has an adjustable strap that allows it to attach to a car seat's headrest.

The Folio and Slim Folio models turn the iPad mini into a personal notebook. The Folio line's cover flips open and closes like a book for protection and privacy. It features a microsued lining and provides access to the cameras, ports, and controls. The Slim Folio is a one-piece case lined with microsuede. It flips open for quick access and can be locked back to turn into a two-position work stand. The Folio line retails for between $40 and $45, and the Slim Folio line sells for $40.

The Passport line has a one-piece folio design held shut by an elastic band enclosure. It features a microsuede interior lining, and it comes in two patterns -- Wise Eyes, featuring a flock of stylized owls, and Varsity, inspired by the look of a varsity letter jacket. The Passport line retails for $35.

Griffin's been one of the best case manufacturers for Apple's products. Their relative affordable price tags and the adherence to quality makes their case very popular.

Griffin is ok, but i 'd rather choose a customized iPad mini case, only customized can be unique.
