Linden Lab rolls out 2D shared creative space

Linden Labs, creators of Second Life and Patterns, have announced their first app for the iPad, Creatorverse. The new app provides users with a shared two-dimensional creative space, as well as a set of tools to make that space come to life. Users can draw, shape, and color creations before adding motors, teleporters, and other factors with which their creations can interact.

Creatorverse also includes joints, forces, and other inputs, allowing users to create anything from a simple lever to an elaborate pinball machine. Users can then share their design with other users and explore the works of others in a global gallery. Users can download creations from other Creatorverse users and tweak them to add their own flair to each design.

Creatorverse is available in the iTuens App Store for $5. More information on the app, including tutorials, is available at the Creatorverse site.

By the looks of it, the whole thing looks like some game built for a 5-yr old. Is it a new premise they're into or are they experimenting with their new iPad entry? SL was way too ahead of all this.
