DM1 update adds new import options
Fingerlab has launched an update for the iPad version of its iOS drum machine app, DM1. Version 3.0 includes new options for importing samples from the device's iPod library, the built-in microphone, AudioPaste, Dropbox, and a shared iTunes folder. Effects are also now applied only to selected tracks, and 22 brand new drum kits are included. In celebration of the update, Fingerlab has also temporarily reduced the price to $4.
iOS 6.0.1 update brings accidental touch protection to iPad
Although not mentioned in the release notes, iOS 6.0.1 appears to have brought accidental touch detection to the iPad 2 and later. Following the launch of the iPad mini, which features a smaller bezel, Apple explained that the device would "intelligently recognize whether your thumb is simply resting on the display or whether you’re intentionally interacting with it.” We at MacNN have confirmed that the update brings this too all current models of the iPad capable of running iOS 6.
