updated 09:40 pm EDT, Wed October 31, 2012

Samples performed by the London Symphony Orchestra

Software developer Notion Music has detailed the release of Notion 4.0 music-writing software. The upgrade features a new interface, improved MIDI input, better compatibility between desktop and iPad, enhanced document import and export capability, and real audio samples performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Users have the ability to build, edit, playback and share files seamlessly between their desktop computer and iPad with the new version of the software. Musicians can begin a composition on their desktop, make on-the-go edits on the iPad version of the software, and then bring the project back to the desktop for final editing.

Built upon the foundation of Notion 3, the updated Notion 4.0 gives users the ability to build and edit scores, and then hear them come to life. Recorded at top studios throughout the world, the samples include drums, guitars, basses, orchestral samples, and much more. Notion 4.0 includes professional features such as native 64-bit support, easy-to-access editing, sequencer overlay, MIDI overdub and new interactive entry tools allowing for multiple quick ways to build scores.

Notion 4.0 is available now for an introductory price of $99.
