Nubia Z5 smartphone due to arrive in China in December
Chinese smartphone maker ZTE at a recent conference introduced a new smartphone brand and the first handset to come from it. The Nubia name will apply to high-end devices from ZTE and the first phone to headline the range will be called the Z5, Weibo revealed. Nubia translates to cloudy from Latin.
While few details were revealed about the Z5, it will apparently have a 5-inch touchscreen, a quad-core CPU, and a 13-megapixel camera, so the specs certainly meet high-end criteria. The only other piece of information is that it will feature Italian design, but whether that means it will be designed by an Italian or just mimic the design of some Italian products remains to be seen.
The phone will ship in China sometime in December, so more specs are expected before then. What OS it will run on remains to be seen, but Android is the most likely.
The 5-inch screen will also more than likely sport 1080p resolution. It's expected ZTE will bring the handset and more news as for international release plans for the Nubia range to the 2013 CES. [via Engadget China]
