New tablet bundled with higher-powered 12W adapter
Some of the first shipments of the iPad mini are being delievered prematurely, a French website suggests. One iGen.fr reader has submitted photos of a Mini he ordered through a French reseller, Darty. The website claims that other resellers, such as Auchan, have also started getting in Minis, though it's not clear how many tablets are arriving at customers' doorsteps. Officially people should only be getting Minis on November 2nd.
As with the full-sized iPad, very little is included in the Mini box, mainly a Lightning cable and a power adapter. 9to5Mac notes that Apple is shipping a 12W adapter with the Mini, in contrast with the 10W adapter Apple supplied with the third-generation iPad. This should allow the Mini to charge faster, alleviating a common complaint with iPads.
