Completed preorders changed to match online store quotes
Apple is removing any specific shipping dates for people who have preordered a 4G iPad mini through the company's online store, buyers say. Until now, people who had preordered a Mini were being given dates such as November 21st or the 23rd. Several 9to5Mac readers say, however, that their order statuses now just point to "mid-November."
The change reflects the quote Apple is currently showing for new buyers as well. It may suggest that Apple is starting to run out of stock of 4G Minis, whether because of demand or problems in manufacturing. The Minis showing up this week are only Wi-Fi models, and new orders are still slated to ship in "2 weeks," around the same time as the 4G hardware.
