Version 2.2 adds Retina display support, iCloud integration
Macintosh software developer Indeeo released iDraw 2.2 today, a significant update to its Mac design and illustration application. Version 2.2 focuses on adding support for the latest technologies in Mac OS X, including iCloud integration, Mountain Lion sharing features, and an updated interface for the Retina display on the new MacBook Pro models.
iDraw 2.2 users can now save their designs directly to iCloud, automatically backing up the documents and syncing them across multiple Macs. The new release takes advantage of the new iCloud file browser on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and also adds a custom implementation for users who are still on OS X 10.7 Lion.
Users on Mountain Lion can share designs to social networks, via email, or through AirDrop without leaving iDraw using the new "Share" menu. Designs can be shared to social networks including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
An iOS version of iDraw is available on the iPad. Users can work on designs freely using both the Mac and iPad versions of iDraw by transferring the documents using iTunes File Sharing or Dropbox. An upcoming update for iDraw for iPad will reportedly add iCloud syncing to the iOS version as well, allowing users to share designs even more easily between both versions.
iDraw 2.2 for Mac OS X is available on the Mac App Store for $25 USD and requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later. iDraw for iPad is also available in the iTunes App Store for $9 and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
