Carphone Warehouse lists Nexus 4 with October 30 ship date

Nexus 4 gets dated, priced at UK retailer Carphone Warehouse

Right on the footsteps of yesterday's leak of new images of the handset, UK-based cellphone retailer Carphone Warehouse briefly posted a listing of the LG-made Nexus 4. The listed ship date was October 30, which also coincides closely with a Google event on October 29 where the handset is expected to be officially unveiled. Otherwise, the listing is somewhat confusing, as it lists both Android 4.2 and Android 4.1.2 will be aboard the handset.

What's more, it uses what appears to be one of the same leaked images from yesterday, which controversial as some believed it was doctored and runs a custom ROM. Otherwise, the listing confirms rumored details such as a 4.7-inch touchscreen with 1,280x768 resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and an eight-megapixel main camera. The phone advertised also apparently lacks a microSD memory card slot and has just 8GB of storage space onboard.

Also, the handset is listed as having a gesture typing input method that apparently works in similar fashion to Swype's.

The handset's pricing scheme is free, as long as users pony up for a minimum 31 (about $50) per month contract at either O2 or Vodafone. Neither yet offer an LTE network, however, which the Nexus 4 is said to support.

The listing has disappeared at time of writing, with the page apparently undergoing regular maintenance. [via XatakaMovil]
