iPad mini Smart Covers make do without metal hinges

Smart Covers will cost $39, be offered in six colors
The just-revealed iPad mini will launch alongside official Smart Covers from Apple. There will be six available, with a black, grey, pink, green, blue, and a (Product) RED version. Unlike the Smart Covers for the full-sized iPads, there won't be a metal hinge in the mini covers, and it's one-sided.
Some third-party companies are already showing off cases for the iPad mini that cover the rear of the device, which the Smart Covers leave exposed.
There are built-in magnets to both help the cover align and wake it up from sleep mode. The cover can also be folded to act as a stand for the device.
The covers will be available alongside the iPad mini on November 2, priced at the same $39 as the Smart Covers for the larger iPads.
