updated 11:11 am EDT, Tue October 16, 2012

Note II will cost $300 on a two-year contract when it arrives on October 25

Sprint on Tuesday revealed the shipping date and pricing scheme for the LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy Note II. The 5.5-inch Android smartphone will ship earlier than previously expected, arriving on October 25 at the carrier. The phone will cost $300 on a two-year contract to new customers and existing ones who are eligible for an upgrade.

What the required monthly plans will cost hasn't yet been revealed, however. Sprint's Everything Data plan with Any Mobile, Anytime that includes unlimited Web, texting and calling between any Sprint mobile phones in America start at $80 per month.

The handset will be available in marble white or titanium gray and will be the first Sprint handset to ship with Android 4.1.1, the first with a quad-core processor, and the first with a screen larger than 5 inches.

The processor is Samsung's own 1.6GHz Exynos, while the 5.5-inch screen offers 720p resolution. Users also get the S-Pen stylus with which they can navigate for a more tablet-like experience.

AT&T is rumored to get the device on October 21, with other carriers expected to receive it sometime in November.
