Beats also announces Executive Headphones
Beats by Dr. Dre announced two new products today, the Pill Bluetooth speaker with NFC capability and an aluminum and leather set of Executive Headphones. The Pill speaker, previously spotted at the FCC in September, is designed not only to play music, but also to function as a speaker for conference calls. Its near-field communications technology allows it to pair with devices simply by tapping another NFC-enabled device to the Pill.
The Beats Pill promises up to seven hours of continuous play on a single charge. It is also programmed to shut off automatically if a Bluetooth or NFC signal is lost for more than 30 minutes.
The Executive Headphones are composed of aluminum alloy, stainless steel, and leather. They're powered by two AAA batteries and feature an in-line control and microphone cable. The Executive Headphones are hands-free calling compatible with iOS devices.
The Beats Pill and Executive Headphones are available at Beats' website. The Executive Headphones retail for $300 and are available only in gray. The Beats Pill sells for $200 and is available in black, red, or white.
