Custom App Starter Bundle builds iOS-ready apps

FileMaker has announced the availability of its new iOS Custom App Starter Bundle, which allows users to develop and deploy custom iPad and iPhone business apps. The bundle includes a number of FileMaker tools aimed at allowing users to develop professional-looking apps aimed at solving issues specific to their own businesses. It requires no custom libraries, and its iOS-based solution framework provides built-in themes, stencils, starter solutions, and ways to integrate data views, data validation, and other aspects of data management without the need for extensive developer experience.

The iOS Custom App Starter Bundle consists of three aspects -- FileMaker Pro 12 for designing and building of apps; FileMaker Server 12 for the integration, deployment and management of apps; and FileMaker Go for iPhone and iPad, which allows for users to deploy, run, and update apps in real time on iPads and iPhones.

The bundle includes compatibility with FileMaker, Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, HTML5, and other systems. It also includes tools and instructions for building project management, content management, and inventory management apps, along with other app styles.

The FileMaker iOS Custom App Starter Bundle is available at FileMaker's online store for $399, which covers the first year's license cost (normally $1,498). The offer is valid from October 2, 2012 to March 28, 2013, and only in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. FileMaker does not require a minimum five-license purchase for this product.
