Iconia W700 coming on October 26 with prices starting at $800

Acer revealed that its first Windows 8-powered tablet, the Iconia W700, will ship on October 26. The 11.6-inch tablet has 1920x1080 resolution and a IPS LCD touchscreen that allows up to 10 points of input. Pricing will start at $800 and top out at $1,000.

Processing power will come from either an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor and either chip is paired with Intel HD 4000 graphics. There is Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth radio, with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1-megapixel front camera. A USB 3.0 port and micro HDMI are the major connections, while onboard storage comes in the form of a 64 or 128GB SSD. The tablet weighs just 2.3lbs and is less than a half-inch thick.

A docking cradle that's included with the tablet will allow the tablet to be tilted between 20 and 70 degrees for easier viewing or typing. It allows the device to stand up in landscape as well. The cradle also extends the battery life up to eight hours of runtime.
